The ASCENT core committee supported by the undergraduate ENT Societies of the Cambridge and Norwich Medical Schools hosted the 2nd East of England Undergraduate & Foundation Otorhinolaryngology Conference on Saturday 10th April 2021 on a virtual platform. The conference team was led by Cambridge University ENT Society Co-Presidents, Emily Wilson and Matthew Choy.
We welcomed over 70 delegates from across the UK and internationally, and 28 abstracts were submitted for oral and poster presentations.
The conference hosted inspirational keynote lectures from Prof. Antony Narula and Prof. Mahmood Bhutta, and a range of excellent workshop presentations encompassing academic training, basic audiology, diversity in ENT, ENT emergencies, surgical CV & portfolio, surgical treatments for hearing loss, and ENT emergencies.
All in all, the 2nd East of England Undergraduate & Foundation Otorhinolaryngology Conference was a well-received educational meeting for the budding ENT surgeon. We hope to be back next year face-to-face!
