Emergency-safe ENT – Simulation-based course

Project title: Validating an ENT Emergency Simulation-Based Course: a novel approach in ENT Undergraduate Education

A simulation-based course for students and foundation doctors

Rationale:

Following the 1st East of England Undergraduate & Foundation Otorhinolaryngology Conference, 85% of delegates expressed interest in attending a regional ENT emergencies course specifically targeted for new/future doctors. Thus, we are delighted to announce the establishment of the first ever ENT ‘bootcamp’ course for medical students and foundation doctors.

Methods:

The first pilot of the course took place on Saturday 2nd March 2019 in Norwich with an experienced team of ENT consultants and specialist registrars. It was very well received by attendees. We plan to implement the course nationally in the 2020-2021 academic year.

***UPDATE*** Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have been unable to host any further iterations of the course. We will continue to review Government advise on social-distancing measures. Future course information will be made available on this webpage.
